Pageant Format

Twenty semifinalists emerged from the preliminary competition, combining swimsuit and evening gown segments alongside closed-door interviews. Nineteen were selected based on this, whereas the twentieth contestant was chosen through online voting. These top 20 competed in swimsuits, narrowed down to 10, followed by an evening gown round reducing them to five finalists. The final three engaged in interview rounds, leading to the announcement of Miss Universe 2023 and two runner-ups. 

The Winner

The spotlight shone brightest on the stunning Sheynnis Palacios as she claimed the coveted title of Miss Universe 2023. The 23-year old model hails from Managua, Nicaragua. Her eloquence, charm and determination captured the hearts of not just the esteemed judges but also the global audience. Despite her young age, Sheynnis exhibited an aura of grace and became the epitome of beauty with a purpose. She indeed showcased well why she truly deserved the prestigious crown.

What She Wore?

Sheynnis appeared jaw-droppingly appealing in an off-shoulder gown. This figure-hugging attire was prettified with striking beads & crystals. Finally, she completed her look with a bright blue shawl and a pair of striking diamond earrings. The color theme of the dress was chiefly inspired by Nicaragua’s flag which features stripes of blue and white. 

The Stellar Lineup of Runner-Ups 

Standing shoulder to shoulder with Sheynnis were the remarkably talented Annotonia Porsild from Thailand and Moraya Wilson from Australia. Annotonia, wearing a floor-length gown with silver crystals covering the fabric, claimed the position of 1st runner-up. Whereas Moraya, styled a floral national costume, became the 2nd runner-up. In addition, their presence on the stage illuminated the diversity and excellence present in the world of beauty and intelligence.
